The Cozi Nest YouTube Channel

As a mindfulness teacher and creator who has developed resources for publishers such as Macmillan Education, I’ve spent years exploring how to bring mindfulness into everyday life — gently, simply, and with heart. But no place has ever felt more naturally open to presence than bedtime.
Bedtime is a threshold. It’s not just the end of a day; it’s a transition from doing to being, from outward busyness to inner quiet. It’s when children feel their feelings most tenderly — when the distractions of the day fade, and their bodies ask for stillness, their hearts ask for holding.
That’s why I created The Cozi Nest — a collection of mindful bedtime stories, meditations, and calming practices, now available for free on YouTube.
A Nest of Gentle Support
The Cozi Nest YouTube channel is a soft landing place. Each story and meditation is designed to help children feel safe, soothed, and seen — especially in those wobbly moments before sleep. The content is lovingly written, softly narrated, and paired with gentle music or natural soundscapes, offering a sense of rhythm, safety, and wonder.
The stories explore both the outer world — pyramids, trees, stars — and the inner world of feelings, breath, and belonging. They invite children to be curious and calm at the same time, holding space for big feelings without ever rushing them away.
Some of the latest stories include:
“The Circle That Opened”, a gentle tale about friendship and belonging.
“The Suitcase of Stars”, which supports children through moving or life changes.
“The Two Moons”, a heartfelt story for children navigating divorce or having two homes.
“From Sad to Glad” and “From Mad to Calm”, both written to help children move through challenging emotions with mindful tools like breath, movement, and sensory grounding.
And “The Whispering Trees”, which reminds us that we are never truly alone — that nature is always whispering wisdom, if we learn to listen.
These stories aren’t just for bedtime — they’re for the soul.
The Power of Bedtime
Bedtime is one of the most important emotional touchpoints of the day. It’s when children integrate, process, and feel — and how they fall asleep shapes how they wake up.
Bringing mindfulness into this tender time helps calm the nervous system, ease transitions, and build emotional resilience. But it also builds trust — in themselves, in their feelings, and in the world around them.
It tells them, “You are safe now. The day is over. You did enough. You are enough.”
This is what Cozi, the gentle voice of the owl in the nest, whispers night after night.
Beyond the Stories
The Cozi Nest is also growing beyond YouTube into a full family resource. We’re currently creating printable storybooks, coloring pages, mindful activity prompts, and Cozi Whispers cards — soft affirmations designed to meet children in different emotional states.
There are meditations for children who are anxious, shy, overstimulated, grieving, or simply needing a moment to feel held. And there are even soft 2-minute audio whispers — bedtime voice notes of comfort and connection — for those nights when less is more.
All of these resources are grounded in evidence-based mindfulness, emotional regulation, and loving presence. But they’re wrapped in the language of story, imagination, and gentle wonder.
